Rabia & Friends brings violinist Rabia Brooke together with a rotating ensemble of close musical collaborators for an evening that weaves beloved classics with vital new voices. This season features Brooke alongside her NLM Piano Trio colleagues, cellist Haddon Kay, and pianist Tamila Salimdjanova, as well as pianist Nathanael Canfield. The program pairs music by Lera Auerbach, Frédéric Chopin, and Handel-Halvorsen with two Nova Linea Musica commissions receiving their second performances this evening: Stacy Garrop's under the shimmering aspens for piano trio, with the composer in attendance, and Jennifer Higdon's Art Measures for violin and piano. Rabia & Friends offers a rare opportunity to hear this music up close, alongside works by the great masters, in an intimate and inspiring setting.
