A newly formed post-punk trio from South Minneapolis. Focusing on an eclectic blend of happy melodies, thumping bass, and pounding drums. They write songs ranging from dealing with religious trauma to hating working in a corporate environment. The band consists of songwriter/guitarist/vocalist Kevin Mosher, bassist Conner Gorby and drummer Kevin Mealey. They are currently working on their debut EP set to release sometime next year. Minneapolis pop-rock crew blending catchy, jangly guitar hooks with driving beat. They write songs "as fun to listen to as they are to play" and deliver energetic, hard-hitting pop-rock bops. Fronted by songwriter/guitarist Tom Blackburn (with Brian Wahl on bass/vocals, Kevin Zech on guitar/keys, and Ryan Babiracki on drums), the band dropped their debut single Bench Seat in January 2025. They've been playing together for three years with a heavy, melodic sound that owes as much to blues as it does to metal. Their live shows are hard to predict and hard to forget. Time DeJonge screams but will apologize for it. Andy Keleske rips on the kit. Jake Gau has one mean bass face. They have a single out called "False Faces." Big Yikes is a DIY queer punk trio hailing from the Twin Cities. While their lyrics explore personal struggles and societal quirks, their music is delivered in a playful yet poignant way. With Big Yikes you can expect authentic and high-energy performances.
