Groups Saha Gnawa and El Khat present to you a stacked night full of soundscapes rooted in schools of philosophy. Reimagining modern Gnawa music, Saha Gnawa brings North African futurism to the stage. Also known as "Sufi Blues," Gnawa's sound originates in ancient Morocco. Reflecting the integration of West African slaves with Islam and Morocco's indigenous cultures, Gnawa birthed a community for music containing polytheistic prayers, calling saints and spirits for liberation. Joining Saha Gnawa will be DIY junkyard band El Khat. Formed in 2019, El Khat began searching for their sound in garages and warehouses. Leading a minimalist philosophy, the group has experimented with homemade instruments, crafting a wide collection of Yemeni-origin Arabic sounds. Between sets, DJ Spins will keep the energy and spirits up with a curated selection.
