Layered with rich textures, emotionally resonant songwriting, and the occasional big guitar moment, Post Hype combines moody indie rock with lush, often cinematic soundscapes and electronic flourishes. The new project from multi-instrumentalist and producer Chris Curtin explores the space between intimacy and scale; leaning into restraint as much as release. James Cocaine brings a refreshing take on indie sleaze revival with grunge and post punk influences. Drawing inspiration from bands like Nirvana, Pixies, and Interpol; James Cocaine masterfully blends the genres to bring in a new sound that’s reminiscent of the NYC indie rock scene of the late 90’s and 2000’s. Jonahp picked up the guitar at 9, learning three chords that were enough to play Eleanor Rigby, and beginning a path shaped by folk, jazz, soul, blues, and rock n’ roll. From jazz upright bass, to NYC hardcore band Playshoes and releases like Passerbys (2020) and Burst Through the Sky (2022), his music continues to explore the question that first stayed with him: “All the lonely people, where do they all belong?”
