Bill Callahan headlines the Main Hall. One of the most beloved and singular songwriters of our time, Callahan has a vast discography that stretches back to the beginning of the '90s. He is one of those rare artists - think Neil Young, Bob Dylan or Joni Mitchell - whose songs absolutely hinge on their one-of-a-kind singing voice and idiosyncratic cadence. And yes, those comparisons are warranted; with nothing but an acoustic guitar and his signature drawl, Callahan transports you to a world all his own. While his original releases as Smog developed a cult following amongst fans of despondent slowcore, the early '00s saw his work opened up to new vistas of radical humanity. His run from "A River Ain't Too Much to Love" (the final album as Smog" through career-defining LPs like "Woke Up on a Whaleheart," "Sometimes I Wish I Were an Eagle" and "Dream River" - to name a few - has rightfully earned him one of the most devoted fanbases in indie music today.
